Odonata originated in 2016 and is now recently incorporated.

Vegetation Ecologist
Director, Jenalee Mischkolz, holds a B.Sc. in Biology, a M.Sc. in Ecology, and is a Professional Biologist (AB and BC) with over 15 years' experience in the environmental field in western Canada. She has a specialty in vegetation and wetlands assessments, reporting, and regulatory applications. and a love of collaborating and mentoring.

Transmission Lines, Pipelines, and Oil and Gas Infrastructure
▪ Transmission Lines, BC
Vegetation ecologist involved in vegetation baseline reporting and led the vegetation effects assessment for confidential transmission lines. (2024-2025).
▪ Water and Waste Storage Applications, AB and BC
Regulatory and environmental lead for several reservoir projects including siting evaluations, field assessments, reporting, and regulatory applications (waste storage application, wetland application, dam safety review application, construction permits) and construction support (2018–2021).
▪ Vantage Pipeline Canada, Pembina – Vantage Pipeline Project, SK.
Provided project coordination for Post-Construction Environmental Monitoring (PCEM), as well as conducted wetland and rare plant monitoring of a National Energy Board (NEB)-regulated pipeline project. Coordinated and assisted with preparing Year 1 and Year 3 PCEM reporting for the NEB. (2016–2017).
▪ Pipeline Projects, AB.
Provided project coordination, led crews for vegetation and wetland field assessments, and supported reporting for several pipelines Conservation and Reclamation (C&R) Plans, Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs), and alignment sheets, and a provincial Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) hearing support for Pembina Pipeline. (2014–2016).

Renewable Energy
▪ Northern Valley, AB.
Lead author on the Environmental Evaluation prepared for the wind power project’s submission to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), including multi-discipline concordance for Northern Valley Wind Limited Partnership. (2023).
▪ Buffalo Atlee Wind Farm, AB.
Led the pre-construction native grassland assessments in the Dry Mixedgrass Natural Subregion of southeastern Alberta following the Conservation Assessments in Native Grassland and the Range Health Assessment for Grassland, Forest and Tame Pasture protocols for Capstone Infrastructure Corporation. (2023).

Supported wetland assessments and WAIR preparation as well AUC hearing preparation and support. (2022).
▪ McCain Coaldale Wind Farm Project, AB.
Jenalee led pre-disturbance wetland, vegetation, and soil field surveys for the Proposed McCain Coaldale Wind Farm Project. (2021)

Mining
▪ CTI Plus Resources Ltd.– Rocky Creek Project, BC
Completed 3D Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping (TEM) and led TEM field assessments to support a mine application. (2024-present).
▪ Block Cave, BC
Prepared a TEM vegetation baseline update and effects assessment for an expansion to the Red Chris Mine Project, supporting set up, coordination, mapping, reporting, and Effects Assessment (EA) regulator review support for Newcrest Red Chris Mining Limited. (2024-2025).
▪ Deh Tai LP – Tu Deh-Kah Geothermal Project, BC.
Authored the baseline vegetation report, which includes Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping (TEM), in support of the project. (2023)
▪ Silvertip Mine, BC.
Conducted a review of legacy data, coordinated and supported data collection and reporting for an Joint Mines Act / Environmental Management Act Permits Amendment Application (JMAEMA) amendment application, including Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping (TEM) update and pre-disturbance field investigations for Coeur Mining Inc. (2021–2023).

Municipal, Industrial, Transportation, Parks and Recreation
▪ Cando Sturgeon West Railyard, AB.
Project lead for wetland assessment and WAIR, and biophysical reporting to support the federal and provincial applications. (2023–2025).
▪ Aggregate Pits , AB.
Project manager, lead environmental specialist, and regulatory liaison for multiple clients aggregate sites including biophysical assessments, environmental risk assessments, and wetland assessments, Water Act and Public Lands Act applications. (2021–2025).
▪ Highway Upgrades, AB.
Led the regulator liaison and preparation of WAIRs and Water Act applications, and Environmental Risk Assessments for proposed highway repairs projects across AB including incidental wetland disturbance during construction. (2017–2018, 2021–2025).
